Fellowships
The LuEsther T. Mertz Retinal Research Center provides vital training to emerging doctors who have demonstrated a commitment to the treatment of retinal disorders.
The Center offers two kinds of fellowships:
- A two-year medical and surgical retinal fellowship in collaboration with Columbia University. Working under the supervision of Dr. Stanley Chang, Dr. Yale Fisher and Dr. Lawrence Yannuzzi, and with training from the LuEsther T. Mertz Retinal Research Center, these fellows supervise residents in the retinal clinic of the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Institute.
- A six-month to one-year international research fellowship focusing on vitreous-retinal-macular diseases. This fellowship, which is sponsored by the LuEsther T. Mertz Retinal Research Center, allows physicians from other countries to observe, participate in research projects, and attend educational programs in the United States.
